Future Jobs Fund
The Future Jobs Fund is a government initiative to help young people, aged 18-24 who have been out of work for between 6 months and 12 months, find work 6 month work placements.
Wolverhampton City Council has been awarded £2.975m to create 455 jobs across the city – with local organisations being contracted to find placements for the young people.
The programme in Wolverhampton is being managed by Adult Education Service.

Access to business
Access to business is a voluntary organisation helping unemployed people – particularly those with disabilities - become employed or self-employed. The centre employs 12 advisors and helps more than 1000 people every year by loaning laptops, offering free office space and secretarial services for up to 12 months, sending people on marketing and ‘becoming self-employed’ courses and helping people find grants.

WORKSTEP is a national government programme which helps people with physical, sensory, mental health and learning disabilities find and keep a job.Wolverhampton City Council has a 45 place programme, accredited by Jobcentre Plus. Old Tree nursery, in Pendeford, is one of its major employers.
